Three Sided Staging

Our IP reimagines the visual language of Chinese Peking opera through a distinctly Malaysian Bornean perspective. Drawing from opera costumes, masks, colour symbolism and warrior silhouettes, we incorporated motifs, materials and natural references inspired by Borneo's Indigenous cultures. The characters were developed as contemporary cultural guardians, balancing theatrical drama with local identity and approachable collectible forms. This concept is extended into functional merchandise, including hair accessories, bookmarks, fragrance sachets, coin pouches, vases and magnetic folding screens. Through careful adaptation rather than direct imitation, the project celebrates cultural exchange, shared heritage and the long-standing friendship between China and Malaysia through design.
