HORNBILL

Hornbill is a heritage-inspired character IP based on the Rhinoceros Hornbill, one of Malaysia's most iconic native birds. Created to celebrate the country's multicultural identity, the character combines traditional Malaysian Chinese attire with cultural elements such as Chinese knots, phoenix embroidery, tassels and auspicious motifs. Through a friendly and collectible design, Hornbill reimagines cultural heritage in a modern and engaging way. The project aims to encourage younger generations to appreciate Malaysia's rich biodiversity while preserving and celebrating Malaysian Chinese traditions through illustrations, merchandise, and collectible products.
